Deadrat6 Fail Post

Hi friends. Recently the WCGNS dynamic duo went to Stereosonic music festival in Melbourne, and i must say; it was an absolute joke. Poorly organised, zillions of steroid-junkie, speed-freak muzzas and all the good artists on at 2:30pm in the afternoon. Yayer. Anyway, this post is mainly to voice my displeasure at the closing act for the day, Deadmau5. If you read back over our past posts, you'll notice that we've never been a fan of the guy. His transition from big room choons to the world of Progressive House and Techno has been unsuccessful, his production quality is awful and he has a tattoo of a green Pacman on his neck. Aaannyyywwaaayyy we thought we'd go check out his closing set, and what a let down it was. Boring, slow, and completely detached from the crowd, I can honestly say that it was the worst live set i've ever seen. Ever. Instead of going on a rant, i will leave you with a clip from Sweden's Marcus Schossow. He did a parody of Deadmau5 titled "Deadrat6", and says it "Sounds like half an hour of production and a bad hangover". Yet...it sounds exactly like the Mau5. Food for your thoughtsicles. Checkout tracks "Somewhat Exactly" and "Very Exactly" for more of the same.

Stereo wasn't all bad, the absolute standout for the day was Slovenia's god of Techno, Umek (pictured above). This dude was playing in some shitdog 50-degree tin shed with the same acoustic qualities as a Malaysian sweatshop yet still managed to get the crowd losing their minds.

This first track was massssiivvee. Number one in Beatport's Techno charts and was in the top 10 overall.
